The creative arts industry is one of the driving forces of the world economy. The industry has provided many with job opportunities. The industry also assist businessmen and women to promote their businesses.Artistes design logo, signage, package, label, pull-ups, posters, wall decoration, interior and exterior decorations, branding etc. for businesses. They compose jingles, appellations, dance to promote business and occasions. These activities has made the artistes one of the respected personalities internationally.

Who is performing artist and visual artist?
Performing artist is an entertainer who performs a dramatic or musical work for an audience and visual artist is a person who creates art forms such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, film making and architecture.
Activity 1: Profile of some International Artistes
There are many international artistes. Some are painters, sculptors, book illustrators, graphics and textile designers. We also have popular musicians, poets, dancers, actors, actresses and comedians. Some of these artistes come from America,Africa, Britain and India as well as other parts of the world.
For this lesson, we are going to select the artistes of our choice (e.g. one visual and one performing arts). We shall use available educational resources such as the internet, library, magazines etc.
