Basic Five – Religious & Moral Education (First Term)

This term, we will explore important topics in Religious and Moral Education that will help us understand God, appreciate ourselves, care for the environment, and live good moral lives through worship.
Here’s what we will be learning step by step:
Weeks 1–2: God, His Creation and Attributes

We will learn about the nature of God as the Creator.

We will explain how special each individual is.

We will also talk about the qualities of God that human beings should demonstrate in their daily lives.
Weeks 3–4: Appreciating God-Given Gifts

We will study the gifts of form and colour given by God.

We will learn why it is important to maintain these God-given gifts.
Weeks 5–8: The Environment

We will discuss how to care for the environment.

We will identify the effects of human activities on the environment.

We will also demonstrate ways we can care for and protect our surroundings.
Weeks 9–12: Religious Practices and Their Moral Implications

We will study religious worship in the three major religions in Ghana.

We will discuss the moral importance of worship.

We will explain the moral significance of religious songs and recitations, and how they guide our daily lives.
Week 13: Revision

We will go over all the topics studied this term to prepare for the examinations.
Week 14: End of Term Examinations
